The last few days have been mostly about me trying to fatten up Evelyn. She has an appointment to be weighed on Tuesday and until then I'm supposed to feed her as frequently as possible and pump a few times a day. I'm also chugging Milkmaid Tea and popping Fenugreek and Blessed Thistle pills - six teas and 19 pills throughout the day, to be exact. The few recent moments that weren't about nursing were spent doing chores, cooking, a visit from Laura and a shopping and Starbucks outing with Dadirac.
Evelyn's three weeks old today. I went a little nuts with the picture taking this evening. Here are some of the many taken.
I just want to add my advice on the nursing - take it or leave it but as long as she's making some gains, happy, overall healthy and sleeping - don't worry too too much. Lucien was a slow gainer and I was pressured/rushed into supplementing because he wasn't gaining to the chart recommendations when the fact of the matter was that he was just a lean baby. As evidence shows, he's going to be that way for a long while. Go with your instinct and don't stress too much about it - that doesn't help make milk either <3
ReplyDeleteThanks. She gets weighed again tomorrow but generally seems pretty content so I'm not as worried as I was initially.
DeleteI like it when you get "snap happy" :) Thanks for the blog... I like watching her grow. Can't wait to meet her! :)
