Trouble baby crawls
Evelyn's motor skills progressed like mad this past week. She started getting mobile via scooting her bum and rolling around, then started crawling, and now is happiest walking while holding furniture or adult hands.

One of her favourite spots to hangout recently |
|
Everything is a prop for helping her stand |
|
Sometimes she needs to rest her muscles |
|
All fireplace accessories were promptly moved to the basement |
|
Favourite spot which we joke is "baby time out jail" (because of all the trouble she now does) |
|
Climbs to a stand, slowly falls on her bum, and repeat |
|
Dress was impeding her crawling |
|
Dog not impressed by how quickly she can now attempt to yank his fur |
|
Not sure what to do about the vent - she grabs and lifts it and so far I've been able to dive for it before her fingers get squished |

This is apparently fun |
March Break Mountain Grove Visit and Paint Mess
We packed the three kids and dog into our clown car and headed to Mountain Grove. Caleb and Liana have been impossible when squished together in the back for short car rides so I Gravoled it up and traveled between Caleb's booster seat and Evelyn's car seat.
Grace was visiting Mountain Grove too which is always nice but it was especially so this time around because, amazingly, Caleb and Grace got along swimmingly and played together for hours on end. Caleb didn't ask me to play with him once or complain that he was bored (he does these two things often at home).
Our small living room and kitchen was supposed to get painted while we were away but instead it was painted during the two days following our return. This mix up really sucked because (1) all dealings with the painter had been done by phone so no written record to negotiate compensation with, and (2) we had to split up so I went to my parents' with the kids while Darcy stayed home for Dexter.

Miscellaneous
Liana bore witness to my epic car documentation fail in which I got pulled over by a cop for not having renewed my license plate sticker, failed to find car ownership and didn't have proof of insurance with me. I got off lucky with only a $65 fine and two warnings. Went to Service Ontario the following morning and got everything up to par.
Liana got accepted to the Visual Arts Concentration at her school for grades 9-12, so starting in September. Yaaaaaay, Liana!
